OC Foot & Ankle's 15-Year Commitment: 'Our Hearts to Your Soles' - Bringing Comfort, One Step at a Time

On November 16, 2023, the team at OrthoCarolina Foot & Ankle gathered at the Roof Above Men's Shelter in Charlotte for a heartwarming event. Over 150 pairs of shoes and socks, generously donated by Red Wing Shoes, were distributed to the residents of the Howard Levine shelter.

The "Our Hearts to Your Soles" initiative was started in September 2004 by Matthew Conti, MD, a high school student at the time. He later became a Foot & Ankle fellow at OrthoCarolina in 2022. Inspired by his experiences volunteering at a local hospital during the summer, Dr. Conti recognized the critical need for proper footwear among the less fortunate. A high-quality, well-fitting shoe is crucial as it supports proper foot alignment, reduces the risk of injuries, and promotes overall foot health.

Since its inception, 15 years ago, Red Wing Shoes has been a loyal supporter of the program, providing thousands of pairs of shoes annually to "Our Hearts to Your Soles." Together, we are honored to serve our community. As the OrthoCarolina Foot & Ankle team celebrates 15 years of participation in "Our Hearts to Your Soles," they continue to emphasize the importance of giving back, especially during the holiday season.
