Biography
Dr. Hamid specializes in treating disorders of the shoulder and elbow. He completed his fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery at the esteemed Shoulder and Elbow Center at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He also traveled to Nice, France for further training in advanced arthroscopic shoulder surgery and complex shoulder reconstruction. He has published numerous scientific articles and book chapters pertaining to topics such as rotator cuff disease, shoulder arthritis, and post-traumatic elbow disorders. He is an Associate Professor with Wake Forest University Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation. He currently serves on the editorial review board for the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. He currently serves the role of Lead Physician at the OrthoCarolina Shoulder and Elbow Center and is the Director for Surgical Simulation for the Department of Orthopeadic Surgery . Dr. Hamid is actively involved in the prestigious American Society of Shoulders and Elbow Surgeons where he frequently presents clinical research and participates in national research focus groups. He has been voted by his peer physicians as one of Charlotte’s Top Docs for 8 consecutive years.
