Biography
Dr. Anderson is an orthopedic spine surgeon dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care with a thoughtful and conservative approach to treatment. He believes in treating the whole patient—not just the condition—and works closely with each individual to develop personalized care plans that align with their goals and lifestyle with the aim to reduce pain and improve function.
Dr. Anderson completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan before earning his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at the renowned Rothman Institute, followed by advanced fellowship training in spine surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.
With a foundation in traditional surgical principles and a commitment to innovation, Dr. Anderson incorporates minimally invasive techniques when appropriate to optimize outcomes and recovery. He treats a broad spectrum of spinal conditions affecting the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, including cervical and lumbar disc herniation, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, radiculopathy, neurogenic claudication, myelopathy, spinal instability, and fractures. His experience spans procedures ranging from minimally invasive interventions such as microdiscectomy and kyphoplasty to advanced reconstructive techniques. His surgical expertise includes anterior, lateral, and posterior approaches to the spine, performing procedures including anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF), cervical total disc arthroplasty and other motion-preserving techniques, as well as lumbar interbody fusion procedures including anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF), transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF), and lateral lumbar interbody fusion (LLIF).
Dr. Anderson is also deeply committed to education and mentorship, playing an active role in training the next generation of spine surgeons as part of the OrthoCarolina spine fellowship program. He is dedicated to fostering clinical excellence, surgical skill development, and thoughtful patient care among trainees.
