Acquisition from Novant Health marks independent orthopedic practice’s second fully owned ambulatory surgery center, promising improved access to cost-effective care for patients
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (DATE) – OrthoCarolina, one of the nation’s leading orthopedic practices and the better choice for care, announced today that it has purchased Matthews Surgery Center from health care network Novant Health and will now own, operate and manage the ambulatory surgery center outright. OrthoCarolina officially owned Matthews Surgery Center starting on Oct. 1, 2024.
Located off Highway 51 in southeastern Mecklenburg County, Matthews Surgery Center is a specialized facility dedicated to orthopedic surgery and pain management for adult and pediatric patients. Featuring two operating suites and one procedure room outfitted with state-of-the-art surgical technology, the ambulatory surgery center employs expert OrthoCarolina physicians and staff, ensuring that each patient receives personalized, high-quality care in a comfortable and safe environment. Matthews Surgery Center is actively accredited by The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.
“We deeply value our longstanding relationship with Novant Health, whose collaboration has helped ensure access to high-quality, affordable care for our patients," said OrthoCarolina CAO Bob Raspa, PA-C.
