Our hand physicians are orthopedic surgeons who have pursued additional hand and wrist surgery training at the fellowship level in order to provide you with the most up-to-date and comprehensive treatment. In combination with our trained hand therapist and medical staff, they are ready to provide the very best in both surgical and non-surgical evaluation and treatment and have become a center of excellence for the Charlotte area in the treatment of hand problems.
Our doctors treat patients at both of OrthoCarolina central offices: adjacent to Carolina's Medical Center (now at the new Morehead Medical Plaza) and at Presbyterian Orthopedic Hospital. In addition, many of our hand physicians see patients in other offices: two Huntersville locations, Gastonia, Pineville, Ballantyne and our two Matthews locations.
Frequently treated problems include:
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Wrist and hand fractures
- Arthritis of the hand and wrist
- Stiff and painful hand problems
- Poor circulation of the hand or fingers
- Numbness, tingling and nerve problems
- Trauma to the hand, including sprains and lacerations
- Work-related injuries
- Recreational and sports-related injuries
- Hand and arm pain
Additional services provided by our Hand Center include:
- Radiographic (X-ray) and MRI evaluation
- Nerve testing for carpal tunnel syndrome and other nerve conditions
- Therapy for regaining strength and function
- Splinting and exercise programs to prevent stiffness and contracture
- Evaluation and treatment of amputations and use of prosthetics
- BTE work simulator evaluation and work conditioning programs for work-related injuries
After your initial evaluation, your physician will develop an individual treatment plan to meet your specific needs; if surgery is required, he or she will discuss your options and post-operative care, addressing your questions and concerns. We will monitor your progress, making necessary adjustments as needed.
At the OrthoCarolina Hand Center, our physicians look forward to treating you with the highest level of professional care.
