As a Charlotte native and graduate of Providence Senior High School, Dr. Scott Burbank’s bi-costal career in medicine     began at Bucknell University.  After graduating Cum Laude   with an undergraduate degree in biology, Dr. Burbank   attended Jefferson Medical College.  He received his medical degree with high honors / Summa Cum Laude, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.  Both his internship and residency were completed at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, in conjunction with the   Rothman Institute.  During his residency, he assisted in providing orthopaedic care to athletic teams at Saint      Joseph’s University (Philadelphia, PA) and Villanova University (Villanova, PA).

 

After relocating to the west coast to pursue a fellowship, Dr. Burbank continued his orthopaedic training, specializing in     Sports Medicine, arthroscopy and reconstructive surgery.          He served as a co-team physician for multiple Los Angeles area high school teams and for Los Angeles Valley College.

 

He is currently involved in numerous research projects    specifically dealing with arthroscopic shoulder repairs and      ankle arthroscopy.  He is the recipient of multiple honors     including awards for excellence in leadership, patient care documentation, and achievement in examinations.

 

He is a member of several professional societies, including      candidate membership in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine        and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

 

Outside of spending time with his wife and two young children, Dr. Burbank enjoys recreational sports, basketball, exercising, golf and fishing.
