Biography
Dr. Koutsogiannis is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in treating disorders of the entire spine. He is native to the Carolinas, being born and raised in upstate South Carolina. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency training at Hofstra University/Northwell Health System in New York. He was honored to serve as Chief Orthopedic Surgery Resident in his final year. As part of his sub-specialty training, Dr. Koutsogiannis completed a one-year fellowship in Spine Surgery at the renowned William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. There, he trained using the latest technology, and minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Koutsogiannis’ extensive fellowship training focused on operative and non-operative management of common and complex degenerative and traumatic disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine.
Dr. Koutsogiannis has published numerous papers in well-respected peer-reviewed journals. He has presented at national conferences and contributed to several book chapters on topics related to Orthopaedics and Spine Surgery. He is a candidate member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and North American Spine Society.
Outside of work, Dr. Koutsogiannis enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children. They enjoy vacationing in Greece to visit family and friends.
